The Springboro Lady Panthers improved to 9-0 with wins over Xenia and Miamisburg. The Miamisburg game was the closest of the year for the Lady Panthers who improved to 9-0 with a 61-50 win in our gym Wednesday night. The Panthers, despite giving a nimpressive 30 points alone to Emilie Teuscher. The Lady Panthers were down 28-21 with 4 mins and change left the Lady Panthers surged on to a 34-28 lead at the half. Meredith fox led the Lady Panthers with 17 points, Shannon Thomas was a little quieter this game but still reached double digits as she scored 16 points. Olivia Schretzman added 12 points in the win. On the losing side, Teuscher had 30 points while Chelsea LaPorte added 11 for the 6-2 Vikings.

The Lady Panthers are averaging nearly a 30 point win through their first seven games (56-27). They have been led mostly without Shannon Thomas who could explodeat any moment this season. They beat Xenia 55-39 at Xenia's gym to improve to 8-0 on the season. Leading the way with an impressive 27 points was Shannon Thomas who was coming off games when she only scored a total of 26 points in the last 5 games before her explosion Dec. 17.

The overall leading average scorer for the Lady Panthers is senior Meredith Fox, who is averaging 12 PPG while Shannon is averaging 11 PPG. The mighty showdown with Miamisburg at our very own Panther Gym. Miamisburg is 6-1, with their only loss a 36-31 setback against Fairmont. Miamisburg is averaging a 56-38 win through 7 games. Miamisburg has three girls averaging 10 PPg or more (Emilie Teuscher:16 PPG, Shannon Campbell:10 PPG, and Chelsea LaPorte:12 PPG), according to daytondailynews.com.

The Springboro boy's team is 3-4 after two consecutive wins over Troy and Xenia. the defense during the Troy game was incredible until it gt down to the end when Troy made it a two point game . Matt Rhule hit a free throw and so did Justin Garrett as the Panthers beat the Trojans by a score of 55-51 Friday night.

The boys team came out on fire and never looked back as the Panthers destroyed the Bucs 80-50. Matt Rhule averages 16 PPG while Austin McMahan averages 15 PPG for the 3-4 Panthers, who also play Miamisburg this week at the Viking Gym. The Vikings are 1-6 on the season.
