After weeks of speculation and meeting with teams, former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has chosen his future team: Denver Broncos. Manning signed his contract on March 20 for five years and $96 million. Denver’s executive vice president of football operations and former Broncos quarterback John Elway was credited with luring Manning to the Broncos. Manning thought that the idea of working with Elway was far better than being involved with football for the rest of his life with the Tennessee Titans. The Colts released Manning because the Colts were planning on starting new. The Colts are speculated to draft former Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with the first overall pick in the 2012 draft. Manning’s signing set up a big shift in Denver. Shortly after Manning signed, Denver traded quarterback Tim Tebow to the New York Jets. With Tebow going to the Jets, backup quarterback Drew Stanton requested to be traded. Stanton was awarded his trade and was traded to the Colts.
