The Final Farewell to the Royal Class

How does one say good bye to the class of 2012?

Well, it definitely isn’t the end of the world, but the end of an era. The senior class has breathed new life into MLEC with their spirit, creativity, and charisma that can never be duplicated.

“The spirit of our class is what I will remember the most. From pep-rallies to major events, our class always came out and new to have fun. I’ve come to love our unity…it’ll be hard to leave the Class of 2012,” Hope Wilcox, SGA president and former Class President said.

Reminiscing on the past four years, it is hard for one to conjure up the right words to bid the royal class a final farewell.

The Class of ‘12 has brought many achievements and takes with it vast potential and a great future: the years’ most amazing dance and their trademark, Blackout; various college acceptances; a record amount of wins at state competitions, several successful protests, amazing leaders and new traditions in which the underclassmen will continue.

“They are a class that cannot be replicated. Even though the Class of 2013 will try to carve our own path and leave our own unique footprint, we will always recognize the permanent mark of the Class of 2012 with admiration,” Kailani Montane, the Class of 2013 Vice President said.

For us juniors, we have seen the phenomenal feats 2012 is capable of and can only hope to live up to their achievements. For the classes below, they have seen 2012 in their glory, or will hear of their legend. We have big shoes to fill and even bigger expectations from the trail the seniors leave. We can only hope that MLEC will maintain the spirit and success that 2012 brought with them.

They're full of energy and craziness which makes school fun. It's obvious that they're going to be missed, they're like big brothers. Some of my closest friends are seniors, and next year won't be the same without them,” said Jonathan Garcia, a junior in the automotive strand.

To our seniors, we wish you nothing but happiness in your lives. May you be successful in all your ventures and do it with the same vigor, enthusiasm and spirit that you have brought to MLEC. We hope that your college experiences contain every bit of fun you expect, and eye-opening and life-changing experiences. May all your dreams be fulfilled and may you lead long, rewarding lives. May the beginning of the rest of your lives be everything you hope for, and more.

“They are all so nice and not seeing their color purple next year will just be weird. They will truly be missed but hopefully they all of them make it to where they want to be,” Giselle Cisne, a sophomore in the commercial arts strand said.

Hopefully, the strong bonds you have made these past four years will not dissolve into the future, but strengthen with time. The friends you make in high school are the friends you’ll remember down the road, and will hopefully be the friends you have by your side.

Regardless, these are the friends that helped you leave your mark on MLEC. These are the friends and classmates that helped make the Class of 2012 legendary.

I only wish that the EMT's keep the name as the most notorious strand, and know that no one will ever leave an impact like 2012 EMT's,” Adrian Peralta, a senior in health said.

Class of 2012’s impact is seen not only with the color purple; but the senior caravan; the academy football games; their pep-rally signs; their unique twists to senior events. It is seen at Fifteen Minutes of Fame, each annual play and every club on campus.

“College is in a few months, but the memories and friendships shared throughout the four years will live on. I am proud to have served the best class MLEC’s ever had,” said Hiranya Mir, Class President.

This is only the first of the final farewells, but do not consider this only as a goodbye. Zenn Perdomo, SGA secretary said, “One simply does not say goodbye to the class of 2012...2012 is remembered forever!”
