Many people are being caught up in the hype for Valentine’s Day, or all the new movies being released this month. But if you are a pet owner you must know that February is world-wide Responsible Pet Owners Month.

During this month pet owners celebrate on how they take care of their pets. This month is dedicated to responsible and caring pet owners who take care of their pets. Pet owners are also encouraged to pass on the information to become a responsible pet owner, and teach the public how to be responsible for their pets well being. Information on neutering and spaying, are always available but are advocated this month. Many shelters and animal rights groups will be trying to get donations in order to help with the animal overpopulation problem. Many stray cats, and dogs have to be put down every day, and this month is to help advocate adoption along with getting your pet spayed or neutered. This month long holiday also tries to get people to stop abandoning pets, and instead trying to find a suitable home for them. Although the ideal goal is to get the owners to keep the pet, this does not happen all the time.

If you want to get involved with Responsible Pet Owners Month, visit the local Humane Society for more details. They will gladly accept food or money donations, as well as your time, if you want to help with the abandoned animals. Remember that responsible pet ownership means providing your pet with love, kindness, and support. Always remember to spay and neuter your pets.
