There’s a new up and coming club at Seckman that you may not have heard about. This newly formed club is called the Seckman Writer’s Group and is sponsored by Mrs. Bambini. The Seckman Writer’s Group is for anyone who is interested and for those who like to write.

            Mrs. Bambini decided to sponsor this club because on career day she had a Seckman High School alumnus as a guest speaker. This speaker now has a career in writing and performing. This was not what the students who signed up were expecting and they decided they needed an outlet for their writing skills. Since we don’t have a creative writing class here at Seckman, Mrs. Bambini and some of those students decided to start the club. They primarily did this “So kids could have a place to share their work,” said Mrs. Bambini. Another reason she decided to sponsor this club is so that student writers could have a place where they felt “comfortable sharing their work, getting ideas, feedback, and just enjoying the creativity of other students,” she added.

            In addition, The Seckman Writer’s Group plans to attend some writing conferences, have some guest speakers, and possibly even gather some materials to publish one or two editions of a student written literary magazine. So, if you are interested in joining this club you can visit them after school from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. every other Tuesday in Mrs. Bambini’s room, 218.
