The freshmen and varsity boy's basketball team kicked off their season with a match against South Summit. The freshmen pulled off a one-point win, and the J.V. lost by one point.
Junior player Kaden Kulland said, “We played as a team against South Summit, and pulled off a good win.” He contributed two points to help Union to a victory. He also said that during their game against Payson High, they played like they didn’t know each other, and that they could have beaten the Lions but didn’t play as a team.
Last Tuesday the Cougar basketball team squared off with Uintah High School Utes. The varsity boys beat the Utes 50 to 46.
With the new season came a new coaching staff, with Mr. Hanke serving as the head coach.
