(September 29, 2005) -- "Clark was absolutely my first and only choice," said English teacher Kathleen Clare, one of this year’s new staff members. "The administration has a really clear vision," said Clare. She credits Principal Doug Dall for "bringing in people who are able to manifest [the shared vision].” Clare has taught in California, Oklahoma, Connecticut and New York.

New cinematography teacher Matt Stroup believes that the "student camaraderie" is also one of the school’s best assets. Stroup will use the experience from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh’s International Academy of Design.

Teacher Anne Reinhard agrees with Stroup that "the sense of pride in the institution is shared by more students." Reinhard, the latest addition to Clark’s team of foreign language teachers, brings years of experience from her days teaching in Ecuador at an U.S. accredited school and at Crescenta Valley High School. She transferred to Clark from after eight years of working as a teacher specialist for the district.

Perhaps the amount of student enthusiasm among Clark students is the reason two of this year’s new faculty members are returning to the school. Both Jennifer Hughes and Valencia Watson have previously worked at the school. Hughes was invited back to Clark after the departure of Marleen Schram, and Watson will replace Judy Pfau, who retired last year, as the new ROP Clerk.

Grace Juarez has taken position as Health Clerk, replacing Melina Aghacopyan. The custodial workforce has also experienced changes with the return of Norma Valencia and Norman Santos, and the addition of Raul Sada.
