Recently I have been hearing a lot about a new law that says if you get caught walking and talking, you will be fined. So, I did a little research and I found out that it is true!

In the city of Fort Lee, New Jersey there is a new law that clearly states that if you are caught texting while walking, you will be fined $85.

Now at this point, you might be thinking, ‘what the heck!? That does not make any sense at all!’ I was also thinking that same thing, until I found out the reason as to why they are making this law.

According to a story named," Texting while driving banned in Jersey Town", found on Yahoo.com, "the borough, which is home to approximately 35,000 residents, has suffered three fatal pedestrian-involved accidents this year".

There are two ways that people could see this. It can be seen as a good thing, or a dumb thing.

The good way to that comes with this law is that there will be less accidents happening to people who really do not pay attention to where they are walking because of the fact that they are distracted by texting. It will make walking much safer and driving without having to worry that people may not be paying attention to when to walk across a street because they are too worried about texting other people.

This could also be seen as a dumb thing to do because when you really think about it, it does seem really silly to fine people just for texting and walking. I mean, they already have a law against texting and driving, and now texting and walking. What is to come next? But, when you see it in that way, it is mainly because you do not see the consequences of not paying any attention to where you are walking. Millions of bad things could happen to you that way.

In my opinion, I think it is a good and safe way to have things, and it is a good way to avoid accidents, but at the same time I think it is really silly to fine people at a high price, but hey, we got to learn some way or another, but like I said that is my opinion.
