Blogger Adriana Cross and her twin, Christina share a moment of reflecting on their similarities. - Adriana Cross

Everyone goes through life hoping to see themselves reflected in a mirror. In my case, it's not just a dream, I see myself in my best friend Christina.
It all started in the 8th grade. I became close friends with a young lady named Christina. In our outside appearances, we were two completely different people, but inside we were one.
We both believe the best way to express yourself is to be the best you can be appearance-wise. Though initially, our appearance was completely opposite, with her hair being blonde and mine being black, our our 8th grade year progressed, so did the similarities in our appearance. Eventually, our only difference was that my "blonde" hair had some red in my blonde.
Over the summer before we entered BHS, our bond became stronger than ever; we became twins. We dyed our hair exactly the same to represent how close we were. Everywhere we went, people would be awed at our resemblance.
We entered our freshman year looking exactly alike. We had the same style, the same gauges, and the same hair. We wanted to show the whole school how alike we are.
As the year progressed, our personalities evolved into our own. I eventually changed my hair to black on top and white underneath and she did the reverse. Superficially, people thought we drifted apart because we both changed our hair and our style.
But to us, the beauty in our changes is that our different features capture us as one. She's my opposite and my other half and vice versa. Over the years, I'm sure we'll continue to change a lot, but one thing is for sure, no matter what our outside differences, we will always be one at heart.
