Mr. Gerety said to us students, " Who would you call if you only had one hour to live?". Many of the students at the Union-Endicott High School he asked said that they would call their Mom, Dad, or some other member of their family. Then the last person he asked he had stand up in front of the whole gymnasium and call his Mom and had him tell his Mom how much he loves her. The reaction from the students was "awww". 

He kept the students involved, "Give me a power clap: *clap*, give me two: *clap, clap*, give me three: *clap, clap, clap*, now give me a big HOORA". Mr. Gerety changed many students lives that day, and inspired many others.

"Thank you for coming and speaking to us at U-E. Your presentation was very inspiring and the added humor got everyone involved. The numerous toughing stories you told really gave me a different look at the choices we make. Thanks again," said Jeremy Dearing.

Brandon Diorio stated "You really got through a lot of people today. It's not often the whole school can share a moment like that and all be able to relate in some sort of way. Thanks a lot. You are an inspiration."

"You put on such an amazing performance today, I just want you to know that i will never forget anything that you said, thank you very much!" another student Adam Keough stated.

As I was reading through all these comments on Mr. Geretys' facebook page, I realized just how many students he did effect, just like me. 

On his facebook profile page there is over 30 comments from U-E students, and more U-E students keep posting, this assembly was a very big turnout, I enjoyed it, and it looks as if many other students did too.
