I’m a sophomore and I’m already pulling my hair out over college searching, and taking courses so that I may have many options. Freshman year I started hearing about colleges and credits but I just took the basic courses like all my teachers were telling me to. It was pretty simple. Now I’m signing up for classes junior year however and I have NO idea what to do.

Some peers are telling me to take as many AP courses as I can because colleges won’t accept you if you don’t have a lot. Some peers are telling me to take easy electives because junior year is already supposed to be hard. My parents are telling me to take certain classes. My teachers are recommending me for different kinds of classes that are clashing with what I wanted to do. There are so many different roads I could take depending on where I want to go, but that’s the problem. I don’t know where I want to go.

How am I supposed to choose my path now if I don’t even know what I want to do? I JUST got my license; it seems a little early to be mapping out the rest of my life. However, that is exactly what I feel like I have to do. There are so many different courses and electives I’m still struggling with what to take and when. I think many of my peers would agree with me on this one too.
