In the Nancy Cooper murder trial, the defense has been cross-examining the Cary police detectives assigned to the Cooper case. Apparently the SBI is not the only incompetent law enforcement group in N.C.
    Nancy Cooper's BlackBerry cell phone was given by Brad Cooper to the Cary Police in the early days of the investigation. One of the detectives working the case who admitted he had little experience with phones accidentally deleted the contents of Nancy's cell phone, potentially erasing evidence.
    Admittedly, if Brad Cooper is guilty, he probably would not have given the police a phone containing evidence against him. Still, the officer should have known better than to play with a phone he did not understand, particularly since this was part of a murder investigation. If you know you do not understand how something works, leave it to the experts.
