At-a-glance

Teacher assisting for Madame Schuster last week was pretty fun surprisingly. I did basic things like cutting out cards for a game, talking in French with students, and grading tests. Part of me wishes I could help her more because she kept on trying to convince me to TA for the rest of the year for her. This is impossible due to my 12th hour study hall being only in first semester, so now she’s asking if I can help her for the rest of this semester. Honestly, the offer is quite tempting—12th hour study hall is boring for me and it is at a point in the day where I’m tired and just want to leave like my lucky senior friends.

In her class I felt like I was actually being productive for once (which is quite sad.) I am done with all my classes and all I want a break from it, so often I draw for my own amusement, but helping Madame put my brain into more of a fun thinking mode. Thus I was achieving something without really thinking.

Madame Schuster’s French II class also helped me review for my own French class. There is nothing like the basics to help you and it was like a refresher course without really, well trying in a sense. Like most classes the more you do something the better you get at it and French is no exception. I got to practice pronunciation, listening, and reading in French throughout the whole week.

I’m feeling positive about teacher assisting for Mrs. Timm next week. Things are bound to change, like what I get out of it. Never the less, I am looking forward to it. J
