Late Again

Are tardy lines really necessary in the morning? Making the students stay in line for a good 20 minutes really isn’t going to change anything in my opinion. I myself would rather be in class; learning, working, and paying attention to teachers give their lectures rather than wait in line and get a tardy pass to see that I have detention afterschool. I honestly don’t get the point of the fact that they expect the students to learn and actually do well in classes, when they take valuable time away from their studies by making them fall in line and just wait there to get a single sheet of paper.

The punishment isn’t even as severe. For instance, picking up trash afterschool for being tardy isn’t really necessary. Other students actually often would rather be at home or out with their friends rather than picking up trash. It’s just another way to waste the valuable time students have within their hands, when they can be out with friends, family, at home working on homework, studying, taking naps because of long hours of work, and etc.

However, detention afterschool isn’t as bad as it seems. Sit tight, relax, pay attention, and don’t fool around with the dean and you should be good for the rest of the hour. Avoid talking; concentrate on work, and being obedient are other ways students can make detention easier on themselves and for the deans. It’s also another god way to kill your homework, since the deans expect of you to work on something for the hour.

Snatching kids and making them fall in line isn’t really going to make a difference in their habit of coming late to school. It can make a different academically, and that’s something we all don’t want. We’re all aiming to get into a good college, and the first step starts there. Being in class on time, working, and paying attention
