By By Maria Leon, Lilian Olvera & Lucia Simental

On May 4 students from Morton East high school held a dance show for the general public. There was a large variety of dances. They danced Mexican Folkloric, Quebradita, Swing dances, Square dancing, Latin dancing, Modern dancing, popping, hip pop, break dancing with special performances by our guests from Durango. "The concert had about 14 different acts, only two numbers were cut," Ms.Borjon said. Many students auditioned for a spot in the show, but not everyone could make itMs. Borjon, and all the other judges had a very difficult decision when choosing the numbers for the show. "It was hard to decide which acts to keep, but we actually made an exception and kept more acts than we originally planned," Ms. Borjon said. All of the students who auditioned put forth a lot of hard work. They were all really good and it was tough when choosing who made it. "We practiced for over four weeks and worked very hard, and it all paid of at the end because we made it", senior Guadalupe Diaz said. It's not easy getting the steps rights. "It was interesting because we chose a new type of choreography, but, hey, it's always good to try something new," senior Joel Sanchez said. For seniors, the concert was emotional. "I really wanted one last show to remember when I leave off to college," senior Gladys Javier said. Overall the show was great. The dancers gave it all they had; they practiced every day. "Everyone who expected an amazing show was satisfied," senior Julio Lome said.
