However, their efforts were not enough to defeat Brodhead-Juda Cardinals. The Cardinals had their fair share of mistakes, but the team was able to keep the momentum going for a 28-21 victory over the Warriors in the end. Both defenses of the Warriors and the Cardinals came out strong in the first quarter, leaving the game scoreless. Both teams continued to drive the ball up the field without scoring, until the second half. The Warriors finally converted one of their drives into a touchdown, giving the team their first and last lead of the game. The touchdown was scored on a 5-yard run from junior Ryan Broedlow, and extra-point kick from junior Stuart Vanden Heuvel was good. The Cardinals then scored on a 2-yard run from DeLorme. The team would then score once more in the second quarter with 1:14 left on the clock. This time, the touchdown was scored on a 2-yard run from Earleywine, and Dougherty made the extra point. This gave the Cardinals the lead into half time. In the first play coming out of half time, the Cardinals fumbled the ball, which the Warriors converted into a touchdown five plays later with a 1-yard run from senior Drew Davis. This now tied the Warriors with Cardinals for the final time. The Cards scored once more in the third quarter with a 41-yard pass from Earleywine to Frost, and Dougherty made the kick for the extra point. They scored again in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run from DeLorme. When the Warriors regained possession after the Cardinals’ punt return, the team scored for the final time on a 31-yard pass from senior Tyler Doyle to senior Caleb Gartner. After the Cardinals took possession for the final play of the game, the team took a knee and let the clock run out. The Cardinals took a 28-21 victory over the Warriors. The Warriors cap off their stelar season with a 10 wins and 2 losses, tying the school record .
