By Ian Burch, Staff Writer

Photo Taken By Ian Burch

Starting May 7, the Horticulture Science class taught by Mr. Smith will be co hosting a plant sale with the Marketing class taught by Mrs. Alvord. The Marketing class is in charge of advertising and plant sales. The students of the Horticulture class will be putting in numerous hours of difficult, but fun work in the greenhouse to ensure that the plants will be ready and healthy. Various flower arrangements and ornamental plants will be available like in past years, while a variety of garden vegetables will also be available for purchase. Among other tasks to prepare for this year’s plant sale, the students had to research and decide upon the plants to be featured in the plant sale, order the chosen plants and supplies from greenhouses and nurseries, and install a fertilizer drip line to provide nourishment for plants growing in hanging baskets. The plants for this year’s sale were bought from Griffin Greenhouse and the Jolly Farmer nurseries. The goal of this year’s plant sale is to raise enough money to pay for the required supplies, and to raise some additional funds for next year’s plant sale.
