MLEC experiences only some temporary discomfort while beautifying and enlarging the campus.

Officials were forced to close the school after construction workers hit a water supply pipeline, leaving the school without water and air conditioning. Students and staff reported to Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School at 7977 west 12th Avenue in Hialeah for the first day of summer school.
